Russian Toy Terrier?
I’m thinking about getting a Russian Toy Terrier to live with me in my apartment in Ithaca,NY. I’m a college student with 2 cats and a mutt from a shelter. I want a classy smart dog. One that when I walk down the street heads turn. I usually leave my dogs, when I’m at school, at Camp Bow Wow (a dog boarding facility.) The dogs are organized by size and personality. I’m a very laid-back person who spends her weekends studying and going to the park. I want a dog that is easy to train and a good traveller. I want a dog that will be my eternal companion,one that makes me want to have more. Dogs like Norther breeds aren’t as loyal because of their independent streak needed for sledding. I want a dog that will sit in my lap and follow me from room to room.
Any terrier will be high strung and will need a lot of exercise. They are smart dogs, but any dog can be it depends on the owner and how much you work with them. I know this because all I breed is terriers. As a pup they’re a ball of energy. After a while they will calm with the right exercise. Any dog treated the right way for the breed would make an eternal companion for anyone.
