help with training my dog. lead problems and with other dogs.?
he is 4years oldand is a irish wolfhound.
on his lead he just pulls and pulls and he is strong and hard to control.
we have tried halties but he takes no attention to them or he mamages to get out of them.
with other dogs he is normally fine and playful but he can get a bit aggressive.
he will stalk them as if a tiger going for it’s prey, this normally scares most of the dogs and he has attacked a few in the past so is there any way to stop him doing this and him to walk up nicly and not attack them. he does not hurt the dogs he get’s them on there back and he stands over them and doesnt let them move or get up.
any small tip’s would be great but traing classes would be a problem as we are starped for cash and could not afford it.
When you are walking him take treats with you and when he starts to pull just pull him back and give him a treat so he will walk next to you. When another dog walks past just get out the treat and let him sniff and lick it until the other dog walks past.And, make sure he has all of your attention like make a lot of noise and talk in a high pitch tone
