How to Train or Air from Pennsylvania USA to Winnipeg Manitoba?
I need to get back to winnipeg, i am in Pennsylvania and the situation is not too good.
i dont have alot of money about $400 and i need to leave asap.
i have a small dog…
i do-not have my own car, but i could hitch or bus or taxi.
good times would be either:
Monday Dec 27th
Friday Dec 31st
or if need be…
Wed Jan 5th
Friday Jan 7th
I am unsure of my options, direct flight air would be preferred for minimal travel time , but multi train is def an option.
i currently know of no train options to winnipeg, ontario yes.
i would be bringing my dog in a cloth/vinyl type carry along bag, as well as a duffle bag of about 60-70 pounds, the size of a hockey equipment bag? i may be able to reduce the size to a large back pack?
if anyone can help me out as i have limited research time, it would be much appreciated.
links with an explanation would be beneficial, not just a “use this service”.
Thank-you in advance
Well, you can’t take a dog on a Greyhound bus so that’s out. Amtrak doesn’t take animals unless they are trained service animals, and neither does VIA rail which is the only train that goes to Winnipeg. A taxi? Are you kidding? Only to get yourself to an airport. That costs you $25 to $50 in most cities. You didn’t say where in PA you are. Flying seems to be your only option for travel with a dog aside from driving. All I can suggest is checking airline and travel sites and see if you can find a fare that matches your budget. American Airlines shows a flight on Jan 1 for $350, Pittsburgh to Winnipeg. All the other days are more expensive, and you’ll pay extra for the dog. It’s probably cheaper to get a direct flight out of the US than to fly into Toronto and then fly to Winnipeg, though you can’t tell that until you check.
